In some cases I have only the quarter year and district, and I'd welcome confirmation (perhaps from newspaper announcements) that it's right as far as it goes.  Then there's baptism and burial.

In the 19th century people drew up drop charts, sometimes extensive, but giving only a year of birth and death for each person -- if you're lucky.  There's more to a family tree than that!

Then you are going to need the certificates, or parish register entries.

Try FamilySearch.org?
And http://www.marriage-locator.co.uk/
This doesn't work for Register Office weddings, or non-conformist weddings (e.g. Methodist, Catholic, etc.)
