Harriett & Benjamin Wolfe
« on: Sunday 05 March 23 12:00 GMT (UK) »
In Histon 1837 John Moore married Mary Wolfe.

Harriet Maria Moor(e) bpt 6 May 1838 Histon. John & Mary.  GRO J Qtr 14 46   mmn Wolfe

Benjamin Young Moore bpt 2 April 1843 Histon. John & Mary. GRO M Qtr 14 59   mmn Wolfe

Harriet died 1852, 3B 275, and Benjamin died 1858, 3B 323

Can anyone see John Mary and/or the children in the 1841 and 1851 census ?

Thanks for looking.
I had found the 1841 & 1851 census but they both have additional children, Ann in 1841 and Joseph and Charles in 1851. The GRO has their mother as GRAVES ??

I've just had another look at the 1851 Census and fs only shows part of it - a second page gives Young Moore aged 8
Joseph Moore aged 5
Charles Moore aged 1

Cambridgeshire and Huntingdon shire FHS has the following baptisms in Histon to John (Labourer) and Mary
Harriet Maria 6 May 1838
Ann 20 December 1840
Benjamin Young 2 April 1843
Joseph Aaron 23 August 1846
Charles 17 February 1850
Lydia 1 May 1853

They are all registered with mmn Wolf(e) except for Ann and Joseph, who appear not to have been registered. It was not compulsory to register a birth until the Registration of Births and Deaths Act in 1874

Therefore I do think that the Censuses are the right ones for your family.

Well, I have learned something new today, thank you. I had always assumed that ALL births were recorded in the GRO.
.... and Joseph Aaron 1846 certainly makes sense.... Mary's father was Aaron.
