Master Mariners Certificate 1868
« on: Monday 06 March 23 06:14 GMT (UK) »
Re-issue at Liverpool of a Master Mariners certificate Nod: 88690 was made to Capt. John Campbell 17th September 1868. See attached.  Replaced Cert. Nod 10334 lost at sea.

Received information suggests his re-issued Certificate had details of ships on which he served in 1868 and 1869 as 3rd Mate.    Can someone please let me know these ships names & voyages?

Kind regards

Is this connected to your other posts?  There seem to have been a number about the same person on different boards

What evidence do you have that the above cert relates to your particular John Campbell?

If you have Ancestry access - here is the link to Liverpool Crew Lists from 1861 - 1919

Hi Carole,
I choose a board that reflects an area similar to the document.  For example the second Certificate of 1868 was issued in Liverpool UK.   The Seaman's Ticket was probably issued in Dundee.   Should I use a different method?     This Certificate is my Great Grandfathers, his birth  details agree with those on his original Masters Certificate issued in Dundee and the same place/date of birth gleaned from other family records.  It's the correct person.  Bewildered why I cannot locate records of his service after January 1867 or any information re an Inquiry into the wreck or his fate after the wreck Inquiries.   Sorry, just trying to find some clues.
