And Mary Morrison Noble mmn BLACK 1875 Newbattle

It looks like one step forward and one step back, So Mary born in 1877 was not married to a William Smith? If so were does Agnes come into it?

Given a brother Peter Noble age 19 was living with William and Mary in 1901 I wondered whether this family in 1891 included the right Mary and brother Peter

This I believe to be Mary's family above based on her marriage to William Smith in 1895.

Her father on marriage certificate is recorded as Charles Smith Noble, occ Coalminer & mother Janet Wilson Noble nee' Black.

Her birth as Mary Morrison Noble records father as Charles Noble occ "Miner" and mother Janet Noble nee' Black. She was born at 5.30pm 2nd May 1875, Blinckbonny, Newbattle.

So she told fibs about her age-unknown for any lady to do that

Looks like you have more information on Lillian, did not know she had married twice.   Have her baptism and marriage to John William Eacott in 1934, he dies in 1966
