NBI has
Castle Square Congregational Chapel, Wisbech
Ann Foster
age 90
22 Jan 1907
Thanks very much rosie99 for your reply
She was 74
If I have the right 1891 entry she was 76 b Guyhirn, Cambridgeshire.
Have you found her in 1901?
1901 - there is an Ann Foster aged 83 b Tilney Norfolk living in Wisbech. Death 1907 may be her
Thank you very much CaroleW for your reply
Yes she was 76 on the census but I have her born 1817 which makes her 74. I havent found her in 1901
I may have found a death record for her as there is a Ann Foster listed aged 89 with a death date of March quarter of 1907 in Wisbech (3b 406).
Carrying out a reverse calculation gives a birth date of 1818, I have Ann born 1817 with a Baptism date of 4th January 1818.
Could this be the burial of the Ann Foster you mention above

Samuel Foster Age: 68 Wisbech carpenter & joiner

Ann’s age transcribed as 43 on Anc*y image looks to read 73
Have been going through some old notes and trying to tie up a few loose ends.
I have Ann Foster on the 1851, 1861, 1871 and 1881 Census.
I eventually found her on the 1891 Census originally listed as Ann Loster. She was 74, sadly living on her own and listed as a Pauper although it appears there was family a few doors/properties away.
I have Ann born 1817 with a Baptism date of 4th January 1818.
Could you please give some further details for Ann from the censuses you mention
Was she married?
Where was she baptised ?
Many thanks Ladyhawk for your reply and the link, the link is a new one for me and one which I have saved in my bookmarks
.
Unfortunately the Ann Foster you kindly gave the details for in your reply is married to Samuel Foster and they lived in Tilney. This is not the Ann Foster I am trying to find
Since placing my original post I have been trying to carry out some more research with my limited resources ( I dont have subscription to Ancestry or FindMyPast websites, I have to rely on FreeBMD, LDS Family Search etc ).
Originally the nearest match I could find for Ann Foster using her location and date of birth as starting references was the one given in my post.
However, using the LDS Family Search website it appears there is an Ann Foster listed who sadly dies in March quarter of 1898 in Fulbourne. Using Ancestry ( although I can not access the details or record ) I can see that several people have Ann Foster in their trees and they all give March 1898 as the death date and Fulbourne as the location.
The last record I have for Ann Foster is the 1891 census ( RG12 /1303 ). She is living in Wisbech St Mary aged 76 and listed as a Pauper. If other peoples trees are correct then this would explain why I cant find her in 1901.
I have researched Fulbourne and seen that there was an Institute there with this part quotation "The asylum opened on 6 November 1858 as the County Pauper Lunatic Asylum for Cambridgeshire, the Isle of Ely and the Borough of Cambridge."
I would suggest that this is where Ann Foster went sometime after 1891
and is the Ann Foster I am trying to trace.
Hope this helps and thank you all very much once again
