vor dem unterzeichneten Standesb-
amte erschien heute der persön-
lichkeit nach bekannt der Buch-
händler Louis Delion und erklärte
das dem von seiner Ehefrau am
zweiten Juni eintausendundacht
achthundert acht und achtzig gebore-
nen Kindes die Vornamen Gott-
fried Wilhelm Hermann bei-
gelegt worden seien

Vorgelesen, genehmigt und
unterschrieben

Louis Delion

Der Standesbeamte

Before the undersigned registrar, appeared today the Bookseller Louis Delion, personally known, and declared that their child born on the 2 June 1888 had received the christian names Gottfried Wilhelm Hermann

Just a point, this is not what I was taught as being German Gothic

This is an example of German Kurrent or cursive writing

German Gothic is called Blackletter, there are several types.

I think it looks more complicated than it really is because of the language.
