Just to point out, that there is also a Barnacurra townland:

That's a biggish gap in age between Patrick and Thomas junior, so maybe a story there, eg. step brothers?

Anyhow, Thomas junior's age and birthplace is at odds between the 1871 and 1881 censuses, so just to note the following Co. Galway birth of a Thomas Concannon to Thomas Concannon and Catherine Dillane on 11 November 1867 at a place I can't make out for sure, but the closest townland match I could find is Cartronlahan in Kilcummin CP:
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1867/03461/2270882.pdf

Cartronlahan:

My gut says no, but it is what it is, so as I said, just to note... until it can be eliminated.

Gaffy,
1881 census shows William and John between Thomas and Patrick jnr, although they are not with the family in 1871.

I have posted births/baptisms for John and a Michael who died but haven’t yet found William.

This is wrong, I think and odd, I think. So maybe ignore!

But are we saying that 5 year old Thomas in 1871 is one and the same as 9 year old Thomas in 1881? For if so, the ages of him and any siblings are unreliable... unless Thomas #1 died and a Thomas #2 was born.

The 1881 children are son Patrick’s with wife Bridget Mannion (variations).
Additionally, there are two brothers to Patrick -

William 16yrs
John 12 yrs
Both born Chowbent.

Oh thanks, I get it now.  So if the census information on ages and birthplaces is anywhere remotely accurate, Patrick was by far the oldest sibling (born Ireland), then a big gap to William (born Chowbent), then Thomas (born 'Barney Arrah' in Galway), then John (born Chowbent). Hmmm, this is a puzzler.
