I wondered about this place - Barnacurragh but it is the ‘c’ sound that doesn’t fit  :-\

https://www.townlands.ie/galway/dunmore/tuam/tuam-rural/barnacurragh/

That is a good pick too Heywood.

Perhaps heard by the Scots enumerator as Bannarragh and written as Barneyarrah.
Trying to remember if the C is ever swallowed ...been a while since I was in in Ireland and that last  time I was mainly in the north.

I have been looking on line to see if I could pick up some tips and came across this smiley guy with some pronunciations of some harder words & some I would not be pronouncing incorrectly that particular way.  May be aimed at ESOL.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCb6BD3e5eo

Some of the sites have said the Co Galway accent is the 'sweetest in Ireland', so I am picking that edges may be rounded off letters. So perhaps the C may be one of these?

Phodgetts...

I think Heywood's suggestion at Reply #7 as Barnacurragh is a good shout.

Irish & Scottish accents can often throw things off a bit.

If the suggestion by heywood of Barnacurragh as the townland turns out to be correct (reply #7), then (via OpenStreetMap) this is it's location - just south of the town of Tuam.

If this is relating to John, son of Thomas and Catherine, it is not him.

There is also
1866 Michael Concannon mmn Cusham with a death in 1867.

I can’t find a birth for William. I wonder where William and John are in 1871?

So Patrick's father was Thomas?

In the 1901 census there is a Bryan (?) Concannon in that townland boarding with his married sister Honor (Donnellan) and niece Bridget Donnellan
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Galway/Tuam_Rural_Part_of/Barnacurragh/1402906/
In 1911 Bernard Concannon 75 yrs is with his niece Bridget Donlan
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Galway/Tuam_Rural__part_of_/Barnacurragh/549619/

There is a Thomas Concanon who dies in 1898 aged 80 on the Irish records site https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/
but I cannot bring his name up in the actual record of the death.
When searching here look at Galway AND Tuam records
