ALLCOCK, missing parents
« on: Tuesday 14 March 23 22:16 GMT (UK) »
Seeking parents of James Allcock  or Alcock born 1846? In Ashbourne area.

CENSUS 1851 has him aged 5 living with grand mother Mary in Mayfield.
-So who were is parents?
-Were the other grandchildren with Mary his siblings?

I think he married Hannah in 1865 ? Hannah Hibberd?

Any help gratefully received.

Birth was 1845 - see freebmd

If you use the freebmd info on GRO online - no mothers maiden name is shown so he was illegitimate

Ralph married 1864, these are the likely witness to James marriage

Name:   Ralph Allcock
Marriage Date:   4 Oct 1864
Marriage Place:   Mayfield, Staffordshire, England
Father:   Ralph Allcock
Spouse:   Eliza Forester

Looks like Harriet never married
Eliza married 1861 to Henry Wibberley

Oh thank you.
I did not have the dob or dod before for Ralph.

Thank you again this is so good to have this question all cleared up.

There seems to be a lot of single mothers or widows trying to support each other in difficult times.
