Daniel Woods Digby after 1851
« on: Thursday 16 March 23 21:53 GMT (UK) »
Hello.
I have details for Daniel Woods Digby up till the census in 1851 and then he seems to disappear. Can anyone help to find more information please? He was born in about 1833 Monk Sherborne, Hampshire and baptised in 1842. He was the illegtimate son of Alice (Taylor) Digby and William Woods. In 1841 he is with his mother and some of his half siblings and in 1851 he is a brother in law at the home of his half sister Jane Digby who is the wife of George Woods and they are living in Monk Sherborne.
Thanks.

There is a Daniel Digby (born ca 1834) death registered in 1877 (Kingsclere District, Hampshire)  - Volume 2C, Page 139 Qtr 4, and;

a marriage of a Daniel Digby in Basingstoke District, Hampshire Qtr 3 1872 - Volume 2C, Page 341 to either Kezia Dicker or Elizabeth Alexander.

Could these be him?

Discharged from the Marines as an invalid in 1870 so he should be on the 1871 census

Fold 3 has a record of an 1867 court martial at Forton. I don't have a sub for that.
