Elizabeth Dooland Leigh born c. 1852
« on: Friday 17 March 23 17:57 GMT (UK) »
A long shot, not sure if posting should be in Gloucester or Someset.

Family notes handed down the generations include a marriage record for Thomas Hecks and Elizabeth Dooland Leigh on 17 February 1834 in Bristol.   Think I can trace earlier records for Thomas but have drawn a blank for Elizabeth.

Grateful for help with Elizabeth's earlier history

The 1841 census re Mary Leigh & Mary Doolan is NOT Elizabeth Dooland Leighs mother.

Mary Doolan nee' Leigh married Kenrick Hugh Doolan in 1831. Kenrick died 1848. Mary Doolan went on to remarry a William Young in 1862. Her father on marriage image is William Leigh occ Attorney.

William Leigh & Mary *** also had a son Nathaniel b c1815. On both his marriage images his father is recorded as William Leigh occ Attorney.

John, thanks for your interest.   Research supports Elizabeth death in 1878.   Parents of Thomas: Thomas Hecks (1791-1872) married Ann Johnson (1785-1824) on 24 December 1812 in Bristol. Thomas married a second time to Sarah Wherrett (1812-1869) on 16 December 1856 in Clifton.
Thomas had two siblings: Louisa b.1814 and John b.1819.

Now off to watch the two rugby international matches.  :)
