This Thomas as you are well aware is the Fly Proprietor in 1841/51/61/71 census. Was he the son of Hugh HEX and Mary baptised Chard 5th May 1793

Elizabeth left a probate record in 1878, and on the same page as her appear probate records for Mary Ann,1838 and Emma 1851.

Yes, Thomas was a Fly Proprietor.   A 'Fly' being small horse drawn carriage and as a proprieter he probably had more than one carriage and rented them out.

Records support his father was Hugh Hex who married Mary Moor in 1783.    Also, Hugh's father was Joseph Hex but I have no details other than his name.

I guess Elizabeth's probate record is on Ancestry?   I don't have access to this but will see what I can find on my next library visit.

Hugh lived to a great age! 98 on burial.
