I tried to bring up her hand in the first pic using some of my photoshop rountines . There could be a ring but it pixelates, so not sure 

Brilliant idea. I have just messaged the cousin in the States that sent me the picture. She’llhave to get out her magnifying glass

Could you ask her to do a really large scan - lots of pixels and send.

I'm pretty sure her ring finger is tucked away behind the handle of the pram and what we're seeing is part of the plant behind. Compare her grip with the right hand. In any case, even if we can see her finger, the lightish blob doesn't look like a wedding ring, more like some round stone on a ring setting or a signet ring.

Yes, it was the first picture.

Nellie - I see that there's a photo of a wedding party  - attached to her name in some of the trees. Which one is she. There is one child and many ladies in white dresses - Edwardian period, maybe.

I think I've exhausted the two sites that I tend to use - and Kent/East Sussex!

Nellie - you said Alice's date of birth was 10 Feb 1887, and you had a photo of her around 40-50 - but the one you posted was taken in 1954, so was she actually 66-67 by then? Or am I missing something?

Alice is the 2nd in the left, next to her brother George, who is on the end of the row. The old chap is Edward Stride and next to him, his wife Sarah. This is the couple that fostered all 4 children when their parents died. The man with the bowler hat is Thomas Colgate, the groom to the bride, Kate Stride, daughter of Edward and Sarah. The girl next to Kate is my great grandmother Margaret Helen Rowland. Then comes her brother, William Rowland and the chap with the boater is, I think, Kate Stride’s brother, Albert. I haven’t worked out, yet, who the baby might be!
The wedding was July 1906, not 1900

Her parents were William John Rowland b1860 and Margaret Ellen Emmett b1857
Siblings were George Edward b1892, William George b1889 and Margaret Helen (my gt granny) b1884
