« on: Monday 20 March 23 21:55 GMT (UK) »
Hi All I have just been looking back at my Great Uncle Thomas Robinson born 1888 Sheffield Died 1935 Sheffield he can be found as single living with his Mother Elizabeth Robinson at 97 Franklin Street Sheffield in the 1911 census Occupation Hollowware Buffer, however having just checked the Sheffieldindexers burial records he is buried with a Maria Robinson widow aged 78 Died at Royal Infirmary 65 Mount Rd; Buried on November 16, 1970 and was wondering if anyone has access to the 1921 census to see if he was down as married I just assumed he had died single but now believe he may have married any help would be appreciated. The 1921 is available on a pay per view basis only at www.FindMyPast.com

She is buried with him if he died in 1935 and she died 1970.  Have you looked for her on the 1939 register?  Have you looked for a marriage for him to a Maria - possibility in 1922 on freebmd?

Her death reg shows her birthdate as 21.5.1892

Will check that Carole thanks did not realise it was only pay per view thought Find my past just had first dibs for a few years as I am on Ancestry just going through familysearch at moment then probably try 1939 census do you know the reason why you can get 1939 but still having to wait for 1921 census

Hi Carol found her straight away in 1939 Widow same address with a son born in 1930 also named Thomas so good chance there should be a marriage around 1928/1929. Thank you for your pointers. Rich

FindMyPast now include the 1921 in their Premium subscription.  The National Archives signed an exclusive contract with FindMyPast for 3yrs so it will be around 2025 before we see the 1921 on Ancestry

The marriage was 1922 - see my earlier reply

If you look up Thomas birth on freebmd it shows his mmn as Welton

There is a redacted entry on the 1939 so there was a child born before Thomas which could be Betty b 1923

However - there was another Robinson/Welton marriage in Sheffield in 1927 - Ernest to Annie W
