? His accomplice, James CROW - where was he from ??  Must have known Richard from 'somewhere'

On the Convict Indent it has James CROW from Co Carlow. I can't quite make out what their occupations are - have included a snip. I think Richard MacDONALD is "waggoner and carter".

There would be clues most probably in family names Richard gave his children.

I haven't checked whether these are correct - a tree on Ancestry has Richard marrying Catherine PIDGEON in 1820. Their children:

1820  Richard John
1831  Catherine
1833  Anne
1837  Charles

A large gap between Richard and Catherine - possibly more children to be found.

Just checked NSW BDM - there is also this birth (probably baptism in this time period) recorded to Richard and Catherine M(a)cDONALD:

1822  Catherine

Still a large gap in births recorded.  :-\

Yes these births are correct. I have that information, and more of the family when in Australia.
I was wanting to know more about before he left England.
Thank you for your help.
Cheers
