Baptism
« on: Thursday 23 March 23 05:59 GMT (UK) »
Has anyone come across this before?  On one of my ancestor's baptism down the right side against each child's details is written poor or pd.  I presume either the parents have paid or unable to pay.

Hi Helina
Were the baptisms you are looking at between 1783 to 1794? If so, it might be the stamp duty tax; paupers were exempt from it.
