Barling GREEN
« on: Thursday 23 March 23 11:13 GMT (UK) »
Hi

A relative Barling Green b Exeter Devon @1845 who m Jane Collins or Mary Longley, Hampstead, London, 1874, disappears after the 1861 C, when he was recorded as at school in Thanet, Kent. He was a beneficiary in the Will of Elizabeth Ann Green (d 1895 Folkestone, Kent) - can't find her details

I would be grateful for any further info on him & his wife etc

His father John Green (1819-1858) m poss 1840 Sarah Lyne, I don't know when she d, or who were her parents. John d 1858 poss Greenwich. For some reason Sarah doesn't appear to be a beneficiary in her husband John Will, according to Probate - perhaps she pre-deceased him, can't locate her on any C after 1851!

Thanks

IN 1871 he is living in Kensington with a Charles G Collins and his daughter Jane (aged 41)

So I think it highly likely that he married Jane Collins out of those 2 ladies suggested.

The Probate Calendar doesn't mention beneficiaries ;)
The people mentioned are the executors; you need to see the actual will to see names of beneficiaries.

There's a widower,  Brian Green, of the right age,  born Exeter living in a boardinghouse in Woodall Spa Lincolnshire in 1911 who may bear further investigation, as he doesn't pop up in any earlier censuses.

He’s living on private means too, as was Barling previously.
