Views and thoughts please
« on: Saturday 25 March 23 17:31 GMT (UK) »
The attached link is an ongoing rootchat post. My question here is with regard to the Findagrave link also attached. This gentleman I believe born 1945 mmn Ibbotson. However there is no GRO record for this death. Could he have died abroad and a headstone placed in memory of him in the UK.

John

He also appears on electoral registers in 2006-8 but why no death record?

Because he didn't die in England or Wales?
Possibilities include Scotland, Ireland, Isle of Man, Jersey, Guernsey, Europe or maybe foreign climes?

Have you looked for matching trees on Ancestry to see if anyone else has the information?

Shows Samuel, Jane Elizabeth and Francis Allan are all interred in the same grave. Unless as you say, Francis just remembered there.

Apparently Francis, generally known as Frank, was in the Lorry trade, very well known, and working from St Asaph and Denbigh. His funeral was held at St Asaph's.

I saw a couple of those comments Jen but didn’t see the one re the funeral. That is a good find.
You would think that there would be a newspaper report.
The relative mentioned can be found by searching.
