First, a warm welcome to Rootschat.
The Chatham News, 27 Mar 1986 has an old photo of a gypsy camp near the top of Sugar Loaf Hill in Ash Tree Lane. It also mentions the "103 steps of Sugar Loaf Hill, in Ash Tree Lane".
Is this the area you are interested in?
