This is the most likely death for David snr. The quarter is correct for a May death

JAMES, DAVID        89

I concur, strange that the Will says he died on 10 May 1846 and stranger still that it was not proven until 1849. There does also again seem to be inaccuracy in ages as, if this is the correct death, in 1841 he was 80 whereas in 1844 he is 89.

If you look at the declaration on the page after  the will, the date has been modified. I would think that Margaret may have got confused.

I've not found a burial record in the parish records or on FreeReg.
