If Maria was full age when she married in August 1873, she should have been born earlier than 1853.
Of course she may not have known her age, or she was lying. Plenty of examples of that.   :)

Place of birth varies. Manchester 1881, 1891, 1901, Ramsbottom 1911 & 1921

In 1881 Mary Cornall age 2 (born 1878 Ramsbottom - first daughter born to Maria and Joseph)
Is in Holcombe with Robert Jackson 75 - farm labourer, and Nancy Jackson 61.
Mary is supposed to be their ‘niece’, but must be grand-niece.

In 1871 in Holcombe Robert Jackson 61 and Nancy Jackson 52 have with them mother-in-law Sarah Jackson 80 and a Niece ‘Miah’ Jackson 18 (born 1853) – cotton winder

In 1861 in Holcombe, Robert Jackson 53 and Nancy Jackson 42. With them is Miah Jackson Niece age 8 (born 1853 Edgeworth) and Sarah Greenhaigh 16 (daughter of Nancy nee Greenhalgh) – a cotton winder.

I have to wonder if this Miah is the Maria you are looking for.

I think Emmanuel Holmes, the witness at marriage could be the one who married Annie/Annis Cornall in 1876.
Here they are in 1881:

This marriage was also at  Emmanuel, Holcombe

Good morning Neale1961,  Thanks very much for your 2 messages.
(1) I have not come across the term "full age" up to now, but presume it means that Maria should have been 21?  Does this go for males as well as Joseph Cornall, her husband was also born in 1953?
(2) Yes, Mary Cornall was my great-aunt.  She was the  1st daughter, but they had a son Joseph born in 1873.  She died in 1953 in Ramsbottom.  I knew her.  There were 7 sisters.  Your information about Robert Jackson and Nancy Jackson looks very promising and i will be trying to digest it this morning!  Maria's name on her gravestone at Emmanuel Church is Myrah?
Kind regards  John

Good morning again Neale1961,  Not sure if i am  using this forum correctly yet!!  Just saw your 3rd message Re Baptism on 20th Feb 1853.
(3) i think this one might be more likely if Maria was born at the end of 1852 or beginning of 1853 and baptised at St Mary's in Bury (very RC church!) it is important that the parents are married?  I see that Robert Jackson is a Widower.  Could he have had Maria from previous marriage?
