Kelly's Directory of Lincolnshire 1909
Bailgate - Steephill to Newport,
West side
No. 14 Seely and Sons, Grocers
No. 15 Brummett Misses Lucy and Charlotte, toy dealers
Here is Gordon rd

Walking Bailgate on Streetview No 15 is still at the corner of Bailgate and Gordon Rd. No. 14 next door largely obscured by scaffolding - presently a restaurant?

When you are in street view you can click of the words See latest date in the black box on the top left of the image to go back to an earlier set of images, in this case May 2019. This reveals that the restaurant is Gino's Pizzeria. https://www.google.com/maps/@53.2351548,-0.5385929,3a,81.4y,201.62h,71.48t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1s7RXNqb6v0g8sO0yacUxCTg!2e0!5s20170401T000000!7i13312!8i6656

Thanks for that - quite unaware of that function.

Not sure if it has always been so, but when locals mention The Bail, it refers to the uphill area around Bailgate.
Somerset - Beard, Masters, White, Percival
Lincolnshire - Turner, Wilson
Yorkshire - Turner
Staffordshire - Beech, Gee, Mellor

That has been true for as long as I remember.
