LM, I think the Fiats have a short bonnet. There is an SUV styled one with a higher driving position which might be worth considering. They also look very cute.  :)

I’m sure you’ll eventually find something you are happy with.

My husband is an ex Ford senior engineer so we are inclined to Fords but it doesn't have to be,  seems a shortage of car dealers near us, we will have to look further afield,  if what we see we both like then tbe deal will be done.

Thank you all for your suggestions

I agree with CF - the Ford Puma is quite a nice car. My sister has one. I’m not familiar with the other Ford CF mentioned.  :)

We had a look for a car yesterday,  all  seem to have long bonnets, my Fusion doesn't
Oh yes, we will test drive any car we  might like to try.
B max looked one yesterday but the one we saw had a glass roof and a slider to close it, don't really want that but the B max looked quite good, discontinued now.

When looking for a car last year I found it quite useful to be able to get a visual comparison of different models, both with each other and with my old car. This site might work for you:

https://www.automobiledimension.com/car-comparison.php

Or this one, though it doesn't seem to have the Fusion in its database:

https://www.carsized.com/en/

If visibility seems worse in a newer car, from either a sloping bonnet or thick rear pillars, it's a good idea to look for one with parking sensors and/or cameras. I don't know if your Fusion would have had them, but they really do make a difference.
Researching among others:
Bartle, Bilton, Bingley, Campbell, Craven, Emmott, Harcourt, Hirst, Kellet(t), Kennedy,
Meaburn, Mennile/Meynell, Metcalf(e), Palliser, Robinson, Rutter, Shipley, Stow, Wilkinson

Hope you get a nice car that suits all your needs Louisa Maude.
I am saving the planet - have just cut up lots  of used envelopes  for shopping  lists .
Made a butterbean casserole for  tea, tidying up after we had eaten etc,  ,checked  the tomato purée , only opened it last week ,kept in the fridge , can’t believe it had to be discarded after only three days, not the usual make I  have so foolishly did not look .Well we have eaten it now so——-
Watch this space!
Did a bit of gardening this lovely afternoon, and very foolishly whilst cutting out dead stems from my Captain Sir Tom rose accidentally cut a good thriving stem. Oooh I was annoyed at myself .
At last a few Chionidioxia are peeping through , had to be brutal with a few things ,but my new loppers are brilliant.

Just had a really good laugh at Last of the Summer  Wine ,
repeats ,
Hopefully to Bury  Market tomorrow for some foam for a mattress for Kyra’s dolly’s pram and some wadding material  for a little quilt,I will cover
it ,have some tiny floral patterned material which will look nice.
The pram is really for her Birthday in November but she won’t be playing outside as much then so might as well have it now..
The pram was such a bargain I had to get it.

Well time for a cuppa ,hope all are safe and well.
Viktoria.

My husband spent hours on the computer comparing car details, a very handy site, I was quite interested in it to, a great help,  thank you Arthurk.

Frost this morning , sun trying to appear  but watery,

I did a bit of gardening but it is not quite warm enough for me yet but I have to get out there soon as I will be putting the my plants in last bank holiday in May .

Viktoria,  I did a similar thing to my grandaughters crib but wasn't  really a dolly girl, like her mother she preferred soft toys.

Hope the tomato puree didn't upset you Viktoria.

Have a good day everyone, think it is car hunting  for us

Have you considered a ford fiesta? They're being discontinued so you might get a good deal on one.

We have borrowed my daugters Fiesta  but it does seem to have a long bonnet, I can't be added to her insurance as  my claim isn't settled yet even though they have given me an offer.
