Jane Potts death Sept 1866
« on: Tuesday 04 April 23 03:20 BST (UK) »
Does anyone have access to more information on this lady's death in 1866; i.e. maybe a husband may be mentioned or any other information on family that may be stated in the death register.  Many thanks.

Hmm - I guess it is the Sept. death in 1866 as I was unaware of the other deaths.  Certainly not the Dec. qtr aged 1 yr old death.

I am wondering if they are the same person being registered twice?  Prob. not; however, it would be interesting to know if this is her married name or ??
Does it suggest a marriage to a 'Potts' ?

They are from the GRO Index as it gives ages of the deceased.

The census 1861 has two Jane Potts about the same age.

Do you know of any relatives?

Who do you think she might be so we can hopefully sort it out

This is quite likely to be the burial of the lady whose death was registered in Sunderland District

says she was the widow of Thomas Potts, a brewer

Thanks everyone.  Very helpful.  I am ruling out both of these Jane Potts for now.
On looking at my previous records; it seems that the Jane I am looking for was born 1798 or 1797 according to the 1851 and 1861 census.  I must take a further look at what I have.

Thats strange that burial as the 1861 Census has William/Jane Potts in High St, he is a Brewer.
She is born c 1791 Lancaster.

Where is the Jane born that you are looking for?
Her husbands name?

Death Certificates from England & Wales don't have information on husband/wife/family.
Except for the informant.

I have quite a few death certs in this timeframe for married women and they usually say wife/widow of followed by the husband's name.
