Bailey, Midhurst, Sussex
« on: Tuesday 04 April 23 15:35 BST (UK) »
Hi,

Looking for help finding info on Alfred 1902 and William 1903 Bailey, sons of Thomas Bailey and Harriett Burchell. I have them both up to 1921 (I think) but any info on marriage, army service if any and deaths.

Thanks!

Have you checked the 1939 register?  If you have their full birthdates - you may be able to find them

WW2 records are currently still with the MoD

Too many marriages for those names to determine the right one

Alfred’s birth was registered March qtr 1902 so he may possibly have been born late 1901.  Also - he was Alfred Thomas

William was Dec qtr 1902

Forgot about the 1939 register for England, thanks! I’ll check there.

Im trying to link the family in through a DNA connection so I don’t have a lot of info for either. The name doesn’t help

I’ll keep looking

The 1982 death is a birth month different in 1939

Neither of the 2 deaths left wills - very inconsiderate🤣

You might want to change the title of your post as Midhurst is in Sussex rather than Suffolk although I see you have posted on the Sussex board.

Where did I get Suffolk from? ::) Thanks!

I’ve contacted a few trees on ancestry that have connections so hopefully be able to get some info that way as I think there’s just too many possibles out there.

Just adding some info I may have found from newspapers then the usual. It's verging on living people now so I don't expect any look ups but someone might be connected and find the post through a search etc.

Alfred may have been in Fulham about 1936, possibly married Annie Polhill nee Trott, possibly the 1978 death that Carole gave above. I think I have him living with William and Mary Dutch 1921 and 1939, Mary would be a distant cousin. No children I could find but Annie did have at least 2 from the previous marriage.

William may have been in Horsham 1930s, possibly married Kathleen O'Halloran/Halloran and had at least 1 son. This William isn't there 1939 and nothing found after that.
