No, I deliberately didn't mention Jonas and Clara as I have their details and am specifically seeking information only in respect of their children

Nothing seems to come up on the surnames board for Smart in Hertfordshire.

There is a death in Luton 1988 for a Mabel Gertrude Smart b 14.12.1896

Death in Luton 1950 for a Leonard Smart aged 68 (age amended per reply below)

I'm struggling with FreeBMD but have located Leonard at the correct expected address in 1939. That looks like a good match for Mabel, who as far as I know wasn't married.

Per GRO online - Frederick was Frederick Ernest June qtr 1895

Charles was Henry Charles b March qtr 1892

Leonard was born in 1881, so would be around 69 years old in 1950 - looks like this is not *my* Leonard.

I suspect from other information that the Charles I'm looking for died in childhood. There was definitely one of the eight children of Jonas and Clara on the 1911 Census dead by the 1911 census where the family reports seven surviving children out of eleven. The missing name is Charles.
