I have Emily Hood who married Stephen Claybyn/ Claibin ...lots of different spellings ... In Norwich in 1837.
The only baptism I can find so far is 1806 at Ditchingham, but that's over 20 miles away?
Any help appreciated?

The marriage took place on 31st March 1834. Both parties made their mark. The witnesses were Emely Earl and Henry Howard (x).

Stephen was a widower, Emily a spinster.

Hi there.thank you for looking.
I have Stephen's baptism but not Emily's.
As Ditchingham is quite close to earsham, it would make Emily's birth there more likely, but on the 1851 census, she says Hardingham?

Do you have her in the 1861 census? (none of the ancestry trees seem to)

Can't see her in the 1881 census, so this death may be her:

The parents of Emily Hood baptised  Ditchingham 1806 were (as you probably know)

John Hood and Susan(Susanna) Baker,  they were married 20 December 1082 in Hedenham.

Their daughter Elizabeth was born 4 Oct 1803 and baptised privately 9 Oct 1803 at Hedenham

Emily baptised 2 Feb 1806 at Ditchingham

William born 6 April and baptised 24 April 1808 at Ditchingham

Elizabeth privately baptised in the parish of Hedenham Norfolk four years since was
Baptised 24 April in this parish. (Ditchingham)

Other children born Ditchingham

Could Emily have also been born in Hedenham?

Has Hardingham been mistaken for Hedenham?
