Martin of Tipton
« on: Thursday 06 April 23 10:24 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for the baptism of John Martin born c 1800 in Tipton( this is taken from 1851, 61 and 81 censuses- I can't find him in 1841 and 71). He married Matilda Amos. I need to find out who ilhis parents were - I had originally thought his parents were Philip and Hannah from Wednesbury but these are not names coming forward. I need some clarification on this please.

This is my direct paternal line and after my Dad died during the pandemic from covid, I thought it was important for my children that I get this right.

Any information will be much appreciated thank you in advance M

In theory his marriage certificate should name his father.  FindMyPast only have the Banns for the Tipton marriage in 1857, so purchase of the certificate seems to be the next step.

Forget this marriage - wrong Matilda  :-[
