Commonwealth War Graves Commission are appealing for blood relatives of Pvt George Henry Owen -Essex Regiment - service no 6019778 - died 21/9/1940 - buried Southchurch Holy Trinity Church.

The Commission are in the process of producing a headstone to mark his grave.

Chelmsford Chronicle 4October 1940

Mr. George Henry Owen, Essex Regiment, 4th son of Mr. R. T. Owen of Richmond Street Southchurch, died in hospital from injuries sustained in an air raid on London. He was returning from a week's leave at Southend, when an anti-aircraft  shell burst outside the cafe in which he was sitting.

Richard Thomas Owen married Eliza Alice Fisher June quarter 1905 registered Rochford.

Eliza Alice Owen was buried 27 August 1925 age 42 at Southchurch

Richard Thomas then married Kathleen E Cooper 1926 registered Rochford, both are still alive 1939

children still with them, William Eric, **George Henry, Horace Raymond and Violet Mabel. 

ADDED
Richard Thomas Owen died 1949.
