Collating all the Johnson information now

and have added a hypothetical link on the
JOHNSON JANE TREE

The GHANAIN DNA matches all have small trees and a tendency to put names but no dates .
Some surnames coming up are ABUSAH  GBEDEMAH BOASIAKO BANSA KOFI WOYANYA

5 are which are definitely Ghana surnames rather than Sierra Leone (my neighbour is from Ghana so was able to tell  )

Have turned up an anomaly apparently the great grandson of Jacobs eldest daughter with violet price is not a match to "Jacob"s grandson thru middle daughtet who I am helping

Who also does not have the Benin Togo ivory coast Ghana ethnicities ...AT ALL

 tho has other African ones

This throws up possibility they Jacob WAS NOT the bio father of one of the daughters

Eldest child conceived 7 months before marriage 1927
Middle daughter conceived 1939 ..same year as Ghanain lodger with the family .Jacob presumably at sea

There are definite connections to Jacobs wifes PRICE family  thru middle daughters son

Is it possible that the couple adopted there first child .

in my opinion the match is too close  not to show if eldest and middle sisters were in fact half sisters .still half cousins twice removed

I suspect something fishy . Or unexpected with the new
DNA cousin

Of it's a second cousin who has put  their mother as home person on a tree linked tobtheir DNA NOT their mother's

Update and conclusion
Willie lightbourn is NOT connected to the sailor Jacob  Johnson's from Bahamas

He is connected to Cornish line possibly thru VEROE or YELLAND  line

He is connected to many JOHNSON s as found. In this research but they could easily have different origins

There are matches to Willie's descendants who are mostly African ethnicity and matches to European ethnicities ...there is not a separate category for Cornish yet but I supect some "Irish or Welsh " could actually be Cornish

Quote from The American researcher

" I have an  DNA ethnicity conundrum with my Wales ancestry  of 2-3% and European matches as high as 23cM or more that match all of my siblings and my cousins, but we don't have a clue who is the common ancestor.  McKinney, McCool, or other "

How many generations would it be before you lost  trace of one ancestors ethnicity. I'd guestimate 6 generations !

But from this example I think they are probably half 3rd -once or twice removed to 4th cousins

I have Yelland in my own tree. DNA proven, this link helped verify research with DNA connections.

https://yelland.one-name.net/surnames.php

Feel free to use or pass on if needed, it is very well researched by owner.

Greetings, I am a DNA match to George Lightbourn, the Grandson of Willie Lightbourn.
Willie was born in Andros Island, Bahamas  on 16 February 1911.

My ancestry is primarily Western African. However George Lightbourn and I also share Wales and Germanic ethnicity. Separately I have Sweden & Denmark and Indigenous North American while George has England & Northwestern Europe and Ireland.

Here is an image of my match on Ancestry.com with George Lightbourn and an image of  Florida, U.S., Naturalization Records, 1847-1995 for Willie Lightbourn dated 16 January 1915.

I encourage the use of the FREE tools at GEDMatch for further research with others that are seeking clarity on the ancestry of George Lightbourn and his paternal and maternal ancestry.
