Joseph Maltman married Rebecca Sidney, 10 March 1813, Norwich, St Etheldreda. By licence.
He was a widower, and of Bury, Huntingdon.

Likely burial for Joseph at Bury cum Hepmangrove, 15 March 1820.
Age 67. So again, rather older than his wife.
Everyone seems to have been dying around the same time!

Could be a Huntingdon will for Joseph.

@jonw65 - thank you soooo much! I hadn't yet delved into the wills on FS and should have thought of it, given I've had earlier success with the wills there. I really appreciate your help and all the links :) I will definitely explore them all.

Now I wonder why the family appears to have moved from Norwich to Ramsey!! Ah - I've now seen your latest reply about Joseph Maltman being of Bury. So that might explain that move. I will continue to dig now that you've given me so many clues.

Again, I'm truly thankful to you for your help.

Teresa :)

I'll explore this one as well. Thanks :)

I've learned that Ancestry is currently digitizing Cambs and Hunts PRs so hopefully I'll be able to see full images rather than just transcriptions within the next year.

I'm used to working with London and Kent PRs and BTs etc., so am not nearly as familiar with the records in the rest of the country. Lesson to self.

Teresa :)

a burial for a William Abbott in April 1834 in Ramsey

So that must be a different William Abbott, as his will was proved in February 1834.
Maybe
20 Dec 1833, Ramsey
William Abbott
Age 76.

You may have seen this by now but, just in case:-

Baptism of Rebecca Sidney on 12th July 1772 at Norwich, St Paul, daughter of John and Rebecca.
There is an item about Rebecca Maltman in Cambridge Chronicle and Journal 22 April 1836
Transcribed as Maultman on the 1841 census, next door to Andrew Newton.

Also:-
John, born 22nd May 1770, bapt. on 27th May 1770 at St James with Pockthorpe
John, son of John buried on 9th Oct 1772 at St Paul
John bapt. on 6th Mar 1774 at St Paul
Hannah bapt.  on 2nd Oct 1778 at St Paul
Abraham bapt. on 3rd Dec 1780 at St Paul

Thanks, David - yes, I've gathered all of those.

I found the assault of Rebecca in 1836 just a few minutes ago :)

Had noticed the Maultman in 1841 and wondered if it was the same person. Seems more likely now.

Appreciate your input!

Earlier, there is a very short PCC will for Mr. Sidney (on ancestry)
Will of John Sidney, Gardener of Saint Etheldred Norwich, Norfolk
<SNIP>
Index to death duty registers says Rebecca Maltman's residence was Ramsay, Hunts.
Was she a daughter of John and Rebecca?

I grabbed this will, as well as that of Rebecca, and yes, Rebecca Maltman was the oldest daughter of John Sidney and Rebecca Flowers, who married in Norwich in 1768.

Thanks :)

I believe this must be Rebecca Sidney, née Flowers, widow of John Sidney (d 1819).

I will check for the Administration at work tomorrow as I'm a librarian at a FamilySearch Affiliate Library :)

Thanks for the tip!

There is a burial at Bury cum Hepmangrove, Hunts, 5 April 1820, of Rebecca Sidney. Age 74.
Is that John's widow?

A PCC administration in May 1821 for Rebecca Sidney.
Administratrix Rebecca Maltman, Ramsey, Huntingdon.

Good luck!
Rebecca Maltman did mention her sister Sarah Abbott in her PCC will, so it all seems to have come together nicely as far as the Sidneys are concerned.

Yes - that will of Rebecca's pulls everything together - mentions the same nieces/nephews as her brother David (also mentioned) does in his will and has Sarah's first married name, plus Sarah's second husband, Andrew Newton, and his brother, John, are witnesses.

Eventually I would have found these, but you have helped me put the pieces together far more quickly than I would have otherwise and I'm really grateful.
