The following might be of interest:-

The other article mentioning Rebecca Maltman, in the Cambridge Chronicle and Journal 3 April 1829, mentions that she owned land at Glassmoor, where one of my relatives lived, on the Bedford Level.

There are some maps of the level and of Ramsey.

I couldn't turn this up yesterday. May I ask where you found the reference?

Thanks,

Teresa

There is a burial at Bury cum Hepmangrove, Hunts, 5 April 1820, of Rebecca Sidney. Age 74.
Is that John's widow?

A PCC administration in May 1821 for Rebecca Sidney.
Administratrix Rebecca Maltman, Ramsey, Huntingdon.
Spong, Taylor, Ferdinando, Lawley, Cox, Sinkins, Morris, Sidney, Keel, Montgomery, Barlow, Izzard, Pearce, Warboys, River, Sherrell, White, Beake

Hi
From the indexes to the death duty registers.
They are on findmypast, but also on TNA website, using their image viewer
Prerogative Court of Canterbury administrations, 1821

https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/C2612167

FamilySearch has the administration act books to view at FHCs, but the administrations themselves can only be seen at TNA

They also have microfilmed the death duty registers up to 1857

Thanks - I could have sworn I'd searched TNA properly...will do so again...

ETA: Ah - I see my error - I had searched Discovery for Sarah's name.  Now I see it's the collection I should have searched. The .pdf is now in my queue to download.

I had found that collection at FamilySearch and browsed it at work yesterday...will go through it again next week at work. Can only do so on my breaks.

Thanks again :)
