Diary summary week ending 16th April
« on: Monday 10 April 23 08:33 BST (UK) »
Morning folks.
Hope I have the correct date

After 2 quite nice days I woke up to pouring rain, it won't stop the jacket pots and bonnet lunch, thankfully all inside , just hope we have enough to go round as 2 people added to the list yesterday,  I will forgo the main meal in favour of my trifle!.

Hope everyone is feeling well today despite the weather.

Sunday is the 16th LM.  Looks like everyone is still on last week's thread, I guess the bank holiday is throwing people out of kilter.

Lovely day here, went for a walk and ended up taking my coat off and wishing I'd worn a tshirt instead of a thin jumper. Lots of rain forecast later though.

Gibel, would you be able to leave your car at the station to save a bit of time?

LM, I hope you have a lovely time at the Church event.  I wish I could come along for some of your trifle. :)

Lovely day Roobarb?! :o  It's blooming f-f-f-freezing here! 😬 There is a man over the road re-tiling a roof and he is wearing a t-shirt.  I bet he'll have double pneumonia at the end of the day!😱

It’s wet and rainy here so I’ve just cleaned the kitchen floor……as you do on a Bank Holiday Monday .

Just shows how the weather can vary in a relatively short distance. As forecast, it's chucking it down now.  :(

Hope the do goes well LM.

Hi folks,
Returned home tired and exhausted, the get together went well.  30 of us, quite a nice number to cope with, the tables were set  out and  we had place names I had made, couldn't see any in any shops , I put butterflies on them and they looked quite good,  that was my childish self who made them , jolly happy time,   2 priests and they were on top form, as I was helping  I was last to go to  get my sweet, trifle, all gone, even our priest didn't get any  and he said it was his favourite, I did offer to do 2 but was told one would be sufficient, I will know next time, might even make our priest one of his own.
Very tiring as we have to clear up and wash up, did have some help from some who are not on the social committee which was nice.
One bright spark said we ought to have one once a month, I don't think so!!

LM

Ps, just seen Horse Guards Parade in London,  pouring with rain and gusty winds, not reached  us yet

Well done LM, it sounds like your Church event was a resounding success and in part thanks to your contribution making the place names and the trifle.  👏Hope you are putting your feet up soon for a well deserved rest.  I am not surprised that they are pushing their luck in wanting this laid on every month! ;)

To be honest it does take organising, I am not the leader  but Margaret who is has done catering  so she knows  what to buy, she sorts food out and I do anything like lists and computer stuff and printing,   so in some ways we each have a job, the other 2 don't seem to have a particular job but it all gets done, team work.
I think if we had one once a month people might get a bit fed up, we do have the Tower open on the Coronation weekend  bank holiday where we will do teas and cakes but it won't be quite so sociable, people will  come and go. The church Tower overlooks the Thames Gateway and is very interesting and very popular, but once again that has to be manned properly buy a couple of men who help out for safety..
I am having  a bit of a restful time till I have to get the next meal.

I spent a lot of the Easter days researching my friends family and communicating with DNA matches

Also had a relative of my great uncles wife asking about a photo of our mutual 2nd cousin  and did a photo exchange trying to identify threat uncle + his wife on a Jones family photo and a Davies golden wedding picture . Posted on photo forum .

Haven't been doing much exercise .feel woozy when I bend down .

Today i.ll book my trip to Paris and Rouen
Just trying to work out who I can meet up with when and where I LL stay in first night.
Talked to my first love 💕 yesterday .we LL meet when I'm back in Paris staying with sis in an Airbnb..
I'm going on a working holiday in Rouen helping blind friend mark her students papers.
+
Trying to get hold of Senegalese friends son who now lives in Paris .it would be nice to see him ...last time we met we arranged to meet at a metro station ..I'd not seen him since he was 4 but we had no problems recognising each other . We walked round a park + around near the bridge with all the love padlocks .and had a meal . He's now married with children of his own ..
+ An unofficial "goddaughter" lives in Paris too

I was supposed to go to Paris for my birthday in 2019. So am looking forward to it .
Maybe I need more than 8 days ?
