Where does he fit into your FH?

The 1930 entry shows he entered the US in 1886 so you should be able to find him on the 1900/1910 & 1920 censuses to get his wife's name.

If she was b Florida presumably that's where they married so a marriage entry may possibly give his parents names - try Family Search

If he was born in the Bahamas & both his parents were born in the Bahamas - what are your reasons for thinking there could be an English connection? Have you looked on FS for a possible baptism?

Without details of his parents names how can any such connection be determined?  Where do all the other surnames fit with him & how have you come up with all those surnames?

Is it connected to your other post here

Modfied reply

That s a link to post about Cornish ethnicity

There is a DNA connection which leads to Cornwall which might be thru this lightbourne man.

# sorry Carole I didn't see which link you posted +  I thought you meant the post about Willie lightbourne  formerly JOHNSON + his daughter

https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=871943.msg7432837

Didnt want to confuse the 2 William Lightbourne s on same post .

Will follow your advice thanks

A death record would give his parents names but I didn't find that .

Another reason to suspect an English connection is the Bahamas were a British colony so established white  families are more likely to have come from there

So he might have a naturalization document too that would give a lot of information and maybe a photo .

# His wife's name may be relevant

If he was born in the Bahamas & if his parents were born in the Bahamas - why would he need a Naturalisation document for the Bahamas?

His wife's name is important if you want to find a marriage

In what way does he connect to your FH?

A passenger record in 1925 gives William's birth date as February 6, 1868 in Nassau, Bahamas.  Ship sailing from Nassau to Miami.

This birthdate matches an entry in the Bahamas birth records, even tho' it indicates the baby was female:

Name   Lightbourn
Gender   Female
Birth Date   06 Feb 1868
Birth Place   Nassau City, Bahamas
Father
Paul Lightbourn
Mother
Adeline Lightbourn
FHL Film Number   222940
Reference ID   4

An earlier birth gives Adeline's maiden name:

Name   Lightborn
Gender   Male
Birth Date   13 Apr 1852
Birth Place   Bahamas
Father
Paul Lightborn
Mother
Adeline Saunders Lightborn
FHL Film Number   222931
Reference ID   79

Since William names his first born son as Paul, it would seem a good match (as per 1900 Census).

WWII draft card for son born 1898 named Paul shows full name as Paul Sumner Lightbourne using his grandmother's maiden name as his middle name.  Born August 7, 1898 in Key West.

FamilySearch has Paul Sr. and wife Adeline with several children born after their marriage in 1848.

Carole as a Bahamas citizen he would have needed naturalization in USA if he stayed there.

He is not connected to my own tree.
It's a bit of detective work that's a spin off from a family I am researching
There might be a reason connected to this man why Willie on my other  changed their surname to LIGHTBOURN from JOHNSON

It might prove useful to other people
