.I would never 'come across ' newspaper articles without help .


I tried the extra option one month but it didn't throw up many British articles and the USA weren't relevant. Probably put wrong search options

So thanks for your contribution
I did see references to him being a reverend on a tree but hadnt seen any proof

Thanks Sandra .I'm having a job keeping up
I'm trying to add them to friends tree as a floating branch until we work out the connection.

Can't stay on computer today but will pop in on and off and am sending main results to the family concerned. the next generation a
Daughter of the sailor has agreed to test DNA and has a sin in law who is connected to Newport s black history group .

So we can put this post on hold for a while and come back to it .when there's more information.
