HORACE POTTER 1921
« on: Tuesday 11 April 23 11:02 BST (UK) »
HORACE POTTER died on 13 April 1921 while serving with the Queen's (Royal West Surrey) Regt. He was stationed at Kilworth Camp, Co Cork when he died in an accidental shooting.
Horace was born in 1903. At the 1911 Census he was living at 36 Bermondsey Wall (?) with his widowed father Charles and sisters Henrietta Maud (19) and Blanche (13).
Horace's name is listed on the Brookwood Memorial i.e place of burial unknown. Question - was he buried in Ireland? Or was he brought back to England for burial, probably in the Bermondsey area.
I would be very grateful for any information.

Horace was one of at least three soldiers who died from accidental gunshot wounds at Kilworth Camp in 1921.

William EXLEY is apparently buried at the Fermoy Military Cemetery, but Horace POTTER and Jack SELF who died the month before Horace are not there.

Wouldn't the MoD have this info given the circumstances of the death?
