Need help transcribing a place in Gloucestershire

I wonder if anyone can help transcribe this place in Gloucestershire one of my ancestors has given as his birthplace in the census records. All the major Genealogy websites seem to have trouble transcribing the place.

The first looks like Barra, and the second like Burrow. The closest I could find in Gloucestershire was this:

I agree, I think Barrow is most likely. Not sure which time period you are talking about - not much there, just a farm and a few cottages by the look of it in 1880s.

My family are from Gloucestershire/Wiltshire and the W at the end of a Word stays silent, hence Barra

I did originally think it could be Barrow but talked myself out of it when I couldn't find anything in the parish records. The information about the 'W' being silent in Barrow is making me reassess that now. That would certainly fit with what it says in that one census entry, with it being spelt phonetically.

The person's surname is 'Giles' and there seems to be so few people in that north Gloucestershire area with that surname, so I was beginning to think it could have been Berrow in Somerset where that surname is more common.

What is his first name, perhaps we could have a look for his baptism too.

His name is Joseph Giles. He was born sometime between 1821-1834. He gives a variety of dates for his birth, probably because his wife was much younger, the most common date he gives is 1829. On his marriage certificate his father's name is also Joseph Giles. I can't seem to find him on the 1841 or 1851 census either. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't seem to be able to find the censuses you included snips of, what are the census references please? Also, who did he marry, and where, extra information could be helpful to find him earlier.
