Need help identifying a crest/coat of arms
« on: Wednesday 12 April 23 13:25 BST (UK) »
Hi, I would like some help identifying a crest/coat of arms that is passed down to the eldest daughter of the eldest daughter, it has been passed down in my family for more than 6 generations that I know of. Any help is much appreciated. It is also liked to a specific name and as far back as I have been able to trace back the name has not been broken. The image attached is what I drew of what the shield looked like it gratefully went to a different family member there is also a ring with the same crest/coat of arms on it is just hard to get a clear image of it.

The name it is linked to is Wilhelmina Hendrina Johanna, the bottom part of the crest/coat of arms seems to be WHJ maybe. According to my mother, the shield which I attempted to draw (the above picture) has other symbols around it but what they are I doubt I will ever know cause the family of ours who had it lost it. The ring has a symbol on the back that I don't know what it means either if you would like me to draw it to show you.

Hello,
Is Wilhelmina Hendrina Johanna's surname Johanna, or is her surname UMMENTHUN, born 1910 in Helden?

As far back as I was able to go is a woman called "Wilhelmina Johanna (which is her name) Van der Berg (Which is her maiden name)", so her mother would have been "Wilhelmina Hendrina Johanna (which would be her full name) Van der Berg (Which would be her married name) I have no idea (yet) what her maiden name could have been. Would like to add that I am South African and that I am not sure where exactly my ancestors came from other than Europe in general.

The surname Van Der Berg is of Dutch origin.
Or, of course, Flemish.  :)
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)
