Her mother Lydia is living with her daughter Ann in 1851 and says she was from Bure Sussex

In 1871 Lydia is with son James in Easthampstead and says she was born in Clotham Sussex - could this be the "Clapham" mentioned earlier and is "Bure", the small village of Bury Sussex?

Living in another household same house. Sorry should be living next door
Elizabeth Searl 25 (not born in County)
Leanore 13
James 4
Edwin 2
Frederick 4 months
Children bn in county

I wonder if this is young Frederick which would indicate that Elizabeth was not marriedSEARLE, FREDERICK       (No mothers maiden surname listed)-
GRO Reference: 1839  Dec Quarter in READING  Volume 06  Page 224

Oddly there are birth regs in Wokingham district for a Frederick May and an Edwin May of the right ages with no mother's maiden name.

added: and a George May with same reference as Frederick - could be twins

Daughter Ann of Robert and Lydia married Samuel Noviss/Novis/Novice  circa 1845

There is an entry for Ann Sale at Wokingham 1840 but no groom listed - might not be the one we are looking for as daughter of Robert still at home 1841.

Ann Searl married 1846 Wokingham ? the only Samuel listed is Samuel Lovett?
------
Daughter Selina Sale of Robert and Lydia death registered 1859 age 32 registered Easthampstead.

Yes I could only find that one too - based on date, location and her name. Could a flowery "N" be mistaken for a "L" and single "t" for double "s" (Novess)?? This would be the GRO  transcriber producing the index in handwriting so presumably pre-dating typewriters, and working from a copy (by hand) of the 1846 register.

Ann Searle born 1823 had children with  a Samuel Novice
Ann 1848
Mary 1850
Emma 1852
Elizabeth 1857
Henry 1858
Alice Eva 1862
Samuel Thomas 1869
can track the family 1851 through to 1901,  there is an Ellen Elizabeth recorded on the 1851 census aged 3, though cannot find any other information about her. There is a tree on ancestry which has her in the states, though not sure. more investigation needed
