She records her age at marriage as 26, was she telling porkies, did they part company pre 1911 census.

Hi John, thank you so much for all this! Alice did lie about her age when getting married in 1898, and indeed also about her father's occupation, and yes, the couple had split up before the 1911 census. Alice may very well be this schoolteacher you've traced but I can't see any definite evidence which makes the identification certain.
It looks as though the Lady Boswells girls' school went bust, doesn't it?
