Walter in 1901 - Sandiacre, Derbyshire

Walter Evans    29    Head b Stockport. Railway labourer
Jane Evans   22    Wife

The interesting name is Viny Evans b Crigglestone (Wakefield). Looks like her full name was Laura Melvina

Mother's maiden name is Stratford - the marriage appears to have taken place in Malmesbury district (Wiltshire/Gloucestershire)

Sadly, I don't  see any parish marriages to check if William was alive when offspring were married :-\

There are so many possible deaths for William (R) and Margaret that it's difficult to find them.

Just a postscript to this - Rosetta had her husband, Peter Ede, had separated by 1911 (he had left her), and she was living in 13 Newton Court, Aldboro Street, Hull.

She was listed as Rosetta Eade born c1875 (Stockport)

With her was her 'sister', Lottie (Charlotte???) who had been born in Sleaford Lincolnshire c 1885.
She had married a George Jackson two years previously and they had a daughter, Rosetta, who was a month old.

Maybe either William or Margaret remarried after 1881?? Lottie had obviously been born after that census was taken - but still none the wiser! ???  ???

I see that George Jackson was born in Wrexham. Have you followed him up and maybe a wedding cert to find if William was still alive?

They say on the census that they have been married for 2 years.

The only parish record I can find is a George Jackson marrying a Sarah Catherine Evans in Penycae, Denbighshire on the 18th October 1910.

Sarah's father is given as Edward Evans -and, although ages look about right, George is 32 years and Sarah is 26 years - its obviously not them!
