Mary Ann Armstrong
« on: Sunday 16 April 23 11:33 BST (UK) »
Good Morning I hope all are well
I wonder if anybody can help me at all please?
I am researching my great x 3 Grandma Mary Ann Armstrong b 1832 Middleton, Belford Northumberland.
She had a daughter Mary Jane Ann Armstrong (My 2 x Grandma) born on 20th Sept 1853 (No father listed on birth cert.) at Greenhill, Bamburgh, Northumberland and then went on to marry Richard Wake of Bamburgh on 21 Dec 1856 in Bamburgh.
Her father is named as George Armstrong, occupation - Husbandman on her marriage certificate, however I can find no definitive trace of Mary Ann on either the 1841 or 1851 census ,or indeed her father or any other family.
Her marriage certificate shows she was working as a servant at Bamburgh castle at the time of her marriage to Richard.
I have her with her husband and children on census returns until her death in 1900 but I would love to know more about her parents etc.
I am not sure where to look next, I have tried BNA and again nothing definitive apart from her marriage announcement to Richard Wake.
Could anybody help at all with this please?
Many thanks in anticipation
Donna

Comberton,Tickettyboo and Trish1120

Thank you so so much for this.

It seams you have indeed found my family and helped me break down one of my brick walls and I cannot thank you all enough.

I have a happy few hours research ahead of me.
Thank you again, you are amazing
