I have just discovered that my 1st Cousin 2 x rem was in WW1 . "Could any Military "buff" help me to understand what Lewis did in WW1?". So my Cousin was Lewis Hender born 1906 . I just have a snippet from Ancestry site saying Lewis was in the 17th Ambulance Army Services Corps T/14754 was his number. The Military place was the UK 1914/1920. If anyone can help this would be appreciated and thank you . Best wishes.

If he was born in 1906, he would have been 8 years old at the outbreak of WW1, and 13 at the end of the war!

Don't think you have the correct records.

Also the man you refer to was in the ASC attached to 17th. Field Ambulance as a driver.
A field Ambulance was a small hospital.
He went overseas in 1914.
He enlisted in 1899.
Not your man as KGarrad says.

Driver Lewis Hinder T/14754 was born circa 1879/1880. He served in the Boer War and WW1.
