Fantastic stuff. You are on a roll! Need to try and find if he married and had any children as these should link back directly, via his mother, to my Edmund ancestors.

Found the original on Findmypast. They are at Tynycwm Lodge, so perhaps not all the farm was sold off, or as you say they rented part of it

1911 has Edith & Lilian Mary at Llannon with her father George Evans.

Have you tried searching 1939 for David John?

Great. Not yet, as I have found another family link!! I have stepsister Lilian Mary Thomas in my tree as well! I did not have her ancestry. I have her marrying Joseph Henry Griffiths (1st cousin 2x removed) in June Qtr 1930.

No luck finding him in 1939. As he was less than a week old in 1901 and the census was on 31 Mar, he was born 25-30 Mar. There is no corresponding entry for a David John Thomas in the 1939 register. However, I have frequently found inaccuracies in DOB in the 1939 register. There is a John David Thomas born 31Mar1901, a widow, farm labourer, living at 2 Drefach Cottages, Carmarthen, I’m not sure. I can’t find an obvious death for him up to 1939 in Carmarthenshire so this suggest he should still be alive. I have looked for possible marriages but there are too many possibilities

Looked also, cannot locate him either.  No Thomas family at Tynycwm Lodge in 1939.

Did locate Henry Thomas & wife Dinah (not at Tynycwm) they seem to be at Tynycwm also in 1921.

David John may have been in the forces, but cannot locate any info. May have died prior to birthdate given, moved abroad... Maybe something will come to light in the future.

Thanks for looking. Now that I know where he fits in to the tree I have a possible contact in Pontyberem who would be related to him. I haven’t been in contact with her for a while and she is 92 (if still around). I’ll update if I have any success on this front.

NOTE: ERROR IN THE TITLE IT SHOULD SAY TYCWM NOT TYGWYN BUT I CAN’T SEEM TO CORRECT.

Hello

I know some of you are much better that tracing people with associated addresses than me. Therefore, I am hoping you can help me find William Thomas a labourer of Tycwm farm, Pontyberem. Unfortunately I don’t have a year of birth for, him but I am guessing before 1886 and could be a few years before this. He was supposedly the eldest son and a brother who hanged himself. I am interested as he is mentioned in an affiliation case brought by a Catherine Rees of Old Sardis, Trimsaran against him.
