Hello all, this might not go the way I planned but I have frustratingly little experience in these kinds of things, and this case might break me!
I am searching for information on my great grandfather Derick's mother, Nellie. A lot of the information we have on her clashes, and we know very little about her.
This is what we do know - She is from DEWSBURY, West Yorkshire, this is also where she died. Jackson is her married name, however her partner is documented as both Charles Jackson and Harry Jackson, so I am not sure which one is correct. She died in 1931, the year after Derick was born.
Derick was then put up for adoption (which we believe was an unofficial adoption as there are no documents for this), and we have no information as to what happened to his father.
Nellie's maiden name may have been Gill, as this is what is listed as the maiden name on the registry of my grandfather's birth.
Nellie was 30 when she died, and the C.O.D is listed as Pyelitis and Toxaemia of pregnancy, which means she was most likely pregnant when she passed away. Derick was adopted into the PEACE family and raised by them.
My grandfather has now since passed away and it would mean a great deal to us, his surviving family, to know about his biological parents, and experience the grief of their lives, as our grandfather never really could.
Any information that could be given (even if it's just a shouty comment telling me I'm doing this very wrong) would be greatly appreciated. I did not get enough time with my grandad, he was a stoic and stern teddy bear, and I would greatly appreciate any opportunity to get to know more about the man I loved so very deeply.
