Joseph BROWN married Emma PRESSICK
« on: Friday 21 April 23 06:30 BST (UK) »
I have been doing some research for a friend on the above family.  I believe that Joseph was born c. 1787, Loftus, Yorkshire and died c. 1850 same place. I think I have found his father, Robert BROWN, b. c.1750 with Joseph's mother being Mary COOKE, b. c.1756.
Joseph and Emma had 4 children to my knowledge - Pressick c.1842, Emma c.1844, William c.1845 and Charles c. 1846.  All born in Loftus/Lofthouse, Yorkshire.  No deaths for Joseph and Emma or any of those children.
Any information on this family would be very much appreciated.

You have posted this on the Australian board, so I assume there is an Australian connection. What is it?

There is at least one tree on Ancestry that has some of this information

More likely bapt for Joseph in my opinion;

JOSEPH Brown
Baptism 11 May 1788, Loftus, Yorkshire to JOSEPH/ELIZABETH

Do you have the M/C of Joseph to Emma Gatenby 1841 to confirm his Fathers name and occupation?

Joseph is alive 1851 Census born 1787 Loftus.

Trish :)

EDIT I am WRONG Marriage transcript is on F/S.Org, Father ROBERT Brown :-[

Thank you everyone.  Yes, I realised I had put the request on Australia rather than England, as soon as I did it.  Apologies.
