Milton F DRAKE
« on: Friday 21 April 23 06:40 BST (UK) »
Milton F DRAKE b. c.1936, d. c.1989 m. Hazel E FORD b. c.1935, d. 2004.  I have been unable to find a birth or marriage for them in NSW or Victoria.  They had several children, one  being Cheryl Anne Drake, b. 1949 (possibly NSW) and d. 2016, possibly NSW.
Milton's father was Lesley DRAKE b. c. 1900 and he married a lady named 'Marg'.  Don't know if that is short for Margaret/Marjorie etc.
Lesley d. c.1985 and Marg c. 1990.
Any information on Milton and Hazel and their daughter Cheryl, would be appreciated.

If married 1948. He was likely born after 1922 (but well before 1936) so births not available on Registers

Marjorie according to this death register entry

DRAKE  MILTON 22431/1988 LESLIEMARJORIE001

And here is the Leslie/Marjorie marriage

https://familyhistory.bdm.nsw.gov.au/lifelink/familyhistory/search/result?20

I will leave it to you to actually look at the registrations (I think for  NSW you have to order from  the transcription service, search Rootschat for advice about this)

Hi your post caught my eye as I have a VERY distant connection to the Drake family. My GGG Grandfather was a brother of Milton Drake's GGG Grandmother.

What else do you do during Covid, other than spend hours tracing distant family connections.

When I read your post I had a look on Ancestry and there is a tree indicating that Cheryl died in Gladstone QLD, this lead me to

https://online.gladstone.qld.gov.au/ePathway/eProd/Web/GeneralEnquiry/EnquiryDetailView.aspx?Id=2892

which list details of the cremation of  Cheryl Ann Lee-Brown B 29.4.1949 D 19.11.2016
at Boyne Tannum Memorial Parklands

then I checked Find a Grave
https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/237974076/cheryl-anne-fryer

and found a memorial for Cheryl Ann Fryer, aged 67 same date of death, 19.11.2016.

I have no details of Milton's children as l have been unable to find a death/ funeral notice or memorial. Could I ask if you could send me details by way of a personal message so that I can add them to my tree. The information I have found during Covid was from Ancestry, Trove, Ryerson, BDM... I have no certificates to prove my information.

Regards   Cass

Wow, thank you Ladyhawk, what a lot of information, some of which I received yesterday through Rootschat, but you have certainly filled in a lot of blanks.
Very much appreciated.
