help please. with. Irene Asher

I don't really know where this woman fits into my. British family. tree or where she was born. or lived...I think she was. born in the. 1920s or 30s. and I have a. photo of her in. her 20s and she was. the spitting image of me at the same age.

any tips. welcome...I don't. have any other Canadian connections...thanks

A few questions - how do you know the photo/Irene is connected to Canada?

Is Asher a married name or maiden name?   Does this surname appear elsewhere in your tree?

we found the photo when we were clearing out a deceased relatives house...wed never heard of Irene. before

written on the.back it says. Irene Asher resident.in Canada...but. no date.

an Asher family. is prominent. in. my. family tree...notts derbys and leics...and I imagine. Asher was the. surname she was born with, but I. don't know for sure.

some relatives moved to. the usa around 1910, but have found no connection. to. her

Irene Asher mmn Lewis March 1/4 1922 reg district Nottingham vol 7b page 693   

A tree on ancestry has an Irene Asher born Ottowa 1915 Father William Asher born 1877 Brant Ontario, mother Mary McAlinden 1881 Quebec.
No spouse given for her and death 3 June 2012 Ottowa.
The wording " resident Canada" suggests that maybe she was now living there but not born there.

Are there any buildings in the photo’s background that could identify the place?  Was she the only person in the photo? 

The phrase seems rather odd to me.  Does it have any punctuation? Not everyone uses punctuation, especially on photos, but it could be
Irene Asher, resident, in Canada (possibly the photo owner resided in a building with Irene at one time?)
Irene Asher, resident (possibly meaning resides) in Canada

thank you all...theres nothing else in the photo...just her head and shoulders.

I suspect she was one of those born in nottm....if she was a relative born in Canada, I think it. likely that there'd be a baby photo of her among the. others and I also think resident suggests she. wasn't born there

I wonder what anyone else thinks of this?
Transcribed as Ireal ASHER but I think the l is really the loop of Mary and the name could be Irene, she would be about the right age.
