Hello. My name is Colleen Kerr, Victoria, B.C., Canada. I am trying to find information on my grandmother and my G. Grandmother. They both immigrated to Canada in and around 1920 from England. My G. Grandmother's name was Nina Naomi King (nee Cooper with a father named Frederick Cooper) and believed to be born in Surrey England around 1878. Her daughter, (my grandmother) Rachel King was born sometime between 1905-1915. All I know is Nina's husband, Henry King died of pneumonia after herding sheep during a cold and rainy time. She later took my grandmother to Canada where she remarried a man named John McLean (probably an arranged marriage). The closest information I have found is a 1901 Census from Wandsworth, England which details a household of H. King, N. King and 3 children, the youngest being R. King. If this is them then my Grandmother Rachel was older than we thought but, of course, she never did have a birth Certificate. My grandmother always said her mom use to pass her off as younger in order to access things that were free for a child. My grandmother always thought she was an only child but, possibly, she had 2 older siblings and my G. Grandmother couldn't raise them as a widow. I'm sure times would have been tough then. I just don't know where else to look? Thank-you to anyone who could assist me. Colleen Kerr
