Conrad DIEHL 1821

Conrad DIEHL was baptised at Lymington on 26 Dec 1821, son of Peter and Mary.

Peter DIEHL was originally German and married DAWKINS at Lymington on 20 Apr 1812.

Can anyone find Conrad after that date, such as 1841 census. Have found most of the other children in records but not him.

are you trying to rule him in or out as the Conrad Diehl in Wellington who died 1868? Drowned in the harbour.  and in NZ as early as 1853 I think.  Def by 1857 when he married.

Yes we are trying to ascertain if he is the same one.

there is a tree on Ancestry with the intention to Marry It is a bit blurry but says he has been In NZ for 16 years so 1841... so that would be why he isn't on the 1841 in England (If that is him).

the same tree says he previously married  21 Mar 1842 to Elizabeth Ann Alexander but she later became Mrs Linklater. (although Conrad says he is a bachelor)
I'll type this out properly if you don't have access/already know all this - let me know.

edited to strike out that date. that was another marriage of Elizabeth Ann.
It seems there was a daughter but no marriage

We have everything about Conrad in NZ, it is just England we have nothing much about.

He first appears in records in NZ about 1848.

The tree on Ancestry is by a descendant but she is not 100% sure if it is him either.
